Squalicum nets 5 in win over Cubs

Squalicum’s boys’ soccer team outshot Sedro-Woolley 13-5 en route to its 5-3 victory on Saturday, March 21, at Civic Stadium.

The Storm’s Eli Bacco-Guidroz scored two goals and an assist. Tyler Hughes scored a goal and assisted on another.

After conceding a fluke goal less than a minute into the match, Squalicum was able to bounce back and get the win.

“It’s the second game in a row we got behind and responded well,” Squalicum coach Joe McAuliffe said in a phone interview. “Owen (Davis-Bower) made some beautiful saves in the second half that a lot of keepers might not have been able to save.”

Squalicum takes on Nooksack Valley next at 4:30 on Tuesday, March 24, at Nooksack Valley Elementary.
