Sehome tops Marysville-Getchell

Sehome’s boys’ soccer team defeated Marysville-Getchell 4-1 in a non-conference game on Tuesday, March 17, at Marysville-Getchell.

Isaac DeVange, Charlie Lahud, Michael Hammond and Jack Willis each scored for the Mariners.

Willis and Ethan Hunger each had an assist, too.

“I think the Bellingham game (a 2-0 loss Monday) woke us up and gave us a chance to shake out the rust a bit and get used to each other,” Sehome coach John Sylvester said in a phone interview. “Our speed of play was better and we played some guys in new spots that worked out, like Kiefer Tomas up front who drew the PK (which Willis scored on), and Isaac was solid in the back.”

Sehome hosts Squalicum at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Civic Stadium.
