Nooksack Valley’s boys’ soccer team found its offensive stride in a 7-0 win over Lynden Christian on Monday, March 16, at Nooksack Valley Elementary.

Rigoberto Gonzales led the Pioneers with a hat trick, and Luke Vanwingerden added a pair of goals and an assist.

Two of Gonzales’ goals were put-backs off of rebounds from the Lynden Christian goalkeeper.

“It’s the same group of kids, so after four years together they know each one like the palm of their hands, so they know what to do and where to run,” Nooksack Valley coach Valentin Villalobos said in a phone interview. “The team looks pretty good, I can’t say it looks strong. We have to play a couple more games for that.”
