Outlook: The Lyncs have tons of excitement in early season practices. Several players from the boys’ basketball team came out a week into practices and infused the team with plenty of energy following a state title run in the winter. “There’s a certain moxie that comes with playing in those types of (state title) games,” coach Brent De Ruyter said in a phone interview. “To be battled-tested and know the level of intensity can only help, especially the young players that are going to log a lot of minutes.” Five regular starters return including Cody Fransen, Liam Kroontje and Cody Sieving. Overall, De Ruyter is seeing a lot of improvement day to day from the boys. “We’re really excited. ... They’ve shown a lot of improvement on a daily basis. That’s something we’ve been really impressed with. There hasn’t really been a down day,” De Ruyter said.
