Ferndale’s girls’ soccer team used an offensive onslaught to shut out Blaine 7-0 in a Northwest Conference game on Monday, Oct. 27, at Pipeline Fields.
Paige Devine led the Golden Eagles (10-4-2, 9-2-1) with two goals and an assist. Jordin Bartel added two goals, and Jillian Monson, Taylor Bryan and Shelby Slaughter each had a goal. Kayla Downs also had an assist.
“I felt like we worked as a team, we worked together to solve major problems,” Blaine coach Kelly Tuski said in a phone interview. “Ferndale is prolific with their shots, so it was tough to stop, but we did our best. Ferndale has a strong attack.”
Tessa Kelly saved 21 shots for Blaine in goal. It was Blaine’s senior night and final game of the season, as the Borderites (2-12-2, 1-10-1) were eliminated from playoff contention.
