Lynden Christian’s girls’ soccer team kept Blaine’s offense in check in a 5-0 Northwest Conference win on Thursday, Oct. 16, at Lynden Christian.
The Lyncs were led by Haley Hollander’s three goals and one assist. Hollander scored the first three goals of the game, with Kaitlyn Heeringa and Sara Dougan adding one more each.
“She has really elevated her game,” Lynden Christian coach Brent De Ruyter said in a phone interview of Hollander’s play. “She knows this is the time of year to be peaking, and she knows she is the target of everyone. But she fights through it and creates opportunities for herself and her teammates.”
Karibeth Englesma had the shutout in net for LC with two saves. Tessa Kelly had two saves for Blaine in goal.
