Trojans can’t finish in 0-0 tie

In both team’s Northwest Conference opener, Meridian nor Sedro-Woolley could pick up the win, as the game ended 0-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Meridian High School.

“It just seemed like neither team wanted to win,” Meridian coach Terry Tigert said in a phone interview. “It was just a little lackadaiscal besides the physicality of the game.”

Meridian got several opportunities, as Janessa Murphy and Emily Brackinreed served in plenty of crosses along the 18-yard box, resulting in eight shots on goal for the Trojans.

“We just couldn’t get a foot on it or couldn’t finish,” Tigert said.

Meridian (2-0-1, NWC 0-0-1) face Lynden Christian on Thursday, Sept. 18, on the road.

Sedro-Woolley 0, Meridian 0
