Lynden Chrisian’s girls’ soccer team rallied back from an early two-goal deficit and held on for a 3-3 tie against Cascade Christian on Saturday, Sept. 6, at Cascade Christian High School.
The Lyncs’ Kaitlyn Heeringa answered Cascade Christian’s early goals with a goal of her own in the 32nd minute. Shaye Brandsma evened it up with an unassisted goal in the 43rd minute.
Emily Roetcisoender gave Lynden Christian the lead in the 51st minute, but Cascade Christian’s Hailey Brandner answered in the 63rd with her second goal of the game.
“We responded really well to the two-goal deficit,” Lynden Christian coach Brent De Ruyter said in a phone interview. “It was a team effort. We kept pressure on them and our play got better as the game went on. (Defender) Sara Dougan was a rock for us in the back today.”

Lynden Christian will look for its first win at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Nooksack Valley.
