Former Nooksack Valley and Meridian football player Adam Mydland has been selected to the roster of the 2016 U.S. Under-19 National Team, according to a release on Thursday, June 16.
Mydland, who graduated from Nooksack Valley in 2015 and is preparing to enter his sophomore season as a defensive lineman at the College of the Siskiyous in Weed, Calif., was one of 44 players selected to the team and the only one representing Washington State.
Team USA will compete in the 2016 International Federation of American Football Under-19 World Championship June 30 through July 11 in Harbin, China, against teams from Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Japan and Mexico. The Americans have won the title in two of the past three IFAF Under-19 tournaments.
