BELLINGHAM AT FRIDAY HARBOR
Time: 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6
Site: Friday Harbor High School
Red Raiders update: Bellingham (5-4) bounced back from a loss against La Conner to earn a 41-14 win over Highline last week on the road. Running back Tanner Aliff again led the way, rushing for 214 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. Quarterback Kalien Hayes chipped in 85 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries. Bellingham racked up 309 rushing yards, and both Trent Helming and Eli Ninnemann had defensive scores. The Red Raiders have scored more than 35 points in four of their last six games.
Wolverines update: Friday Harbor (5-4) suffered a 17-0 loss to La Conner last Friday one week removed from scoring 64 points against Darrington. The Wolverines’ rushing attack amassed 108 yards on 36 carries, and the passing game put together just three completions with an exception to a 65-yard pass completion on the last play of the game. Friday Harbor, which finished third in the Northwest 2B/1B conference, has lost three of its last five games.
Player to watch: While the offensive line deserves all the credit in the world for making this year’s Red Raiders’ offense such a success, it’s running back Tanner Aliff, who’s ran for 1,651 yards and 17 touchdowns, that provides the excitement. Expect him to have a big game in his last time suiting up for Bellingham.
Herald’s pick: Bellingham 24-17
