Girls’ basketball roundup: Kooiman leads Lions to victory

The Lynden girls’ basketball team won 57-36 over Sehome in a Northwest Conference game on Monday, Jan. 1.

Elisa Kooiman led the Lions with 18 points and Jasmyne Neria followed with 13 points. Mariah Gonzalez added 10 points.

Madison MacPhee led Sehome with eight points.

Next, Lynden hosts Bellingham at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4. Sehome will host Anacortes at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5.

Lummi 29, Orcas Christian 21: Jenyha Ell led Lummi girls’ basketball to victory with 17 points and Raeschelle Washington followed with eight points. Alison Lawrence added 4 points.
