Duncan James F Sr. 6-3 2.4
Leighton Kingma F Jr. 6-6 12.7

Scouting the Mariners: Sehome depends on its depth, and its roster features an impressive group of nine seniors. The Mariners go with a number of different lineups and have several players who can score. Led by Leif Anderson and Tanner Clark, Sehome has excellent guard play, and sophomore Marcus Montag and Langston Engle add to the backcourt. Leighton Kingma is a versatile inside-outside guy.

Key to the game: Sehome is always focused on taking care of the basketball and winning the rebounding battle. That shouldn’t change against Washington.

Player to watch: Leif Anderson only scored three points against Squalicum. Look for the senior to bounce back.

David Ioane F Sr. 6-5 7.5
Chandler Whalen F Sr. 6-6 16.4

Scouting the Patriots: Washington is making its first state appearance since 2000, and the Patriots have gotten back thanks to their tremendous athleticism. Washington has a number of short, quick guards who can score, and 6-foot-5 David Ioane and 6-foot-6 Chandler Whalen give the Patriots nice balance. Three of Washington’s six losses have come against River Ridge, including its last game, a 67-65 loss in the District 3 title game.

Key to the game: It’s been a long time since Washington has reached state. If the Patriots can play with poise, they should have a chance to beat an experinenced team.

Player to watch: Chandler Whalen is a force inside and could give the Mariners problems.
