Blackhawks enter postseason on high note

Lummi’s boys’ basketball team went deep into its bench and pulled to a 58-27 victory on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Grace Academy High School.

“Defensively, we were talking, moving our feet and boxing out,” Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview. “I thought that was the key to success tonight.”

The Blackhawks’ Trazil Lane led the team with 15 points but it was Alex Jefferson and Adam Lawrence coming off the bench that impressed Toby.

“They did a good job of controlling the paint and boxing out,” Toby said in a phone interview. “I was proud of the bigs coming in.”

Lummi enters the postseason now and faces Mount Vernon Christian on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at home.
