Bellingham’s defensive adjustments lead to 67-50 win

Logan Schilder led the Bellingham boys’ basketball team with 20 points in its 67-50 victory against Nooksack Valley on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Nooksack Valley High.

The Red Raiders’ (12-7 overall, 7-4 NWC) Kyle Hofstetter had 14 points and Kalien Hayes added 10. The Pioneers’ (1-19 overall, 0-12 NWC) Connor Beard led the team with 15 points, Aaron Bosscher and Jeremy Toner had nine apiece.

“(Bellingham) made adjustments and went into a zone. It was tough for us to score. We settled for 3s and weren’t shooting the ball well,” Nooksack Valley coach Chris Scrimsher said in a phone interview.

Beard, Toner, Bosscher and Blake Williams were all players Scrimsher highlighted as playing well for the Pioneers during the game.

Nooksack Valley will play Blaine next at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, on the road and Bellingham takes on Lynden at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Lynden.
