Fransen’s near-triple-double leads Lyncs over Pioneers

Lynden Christian got 28 points from Cody Fransen on a night when leading scorer Zach Roetcisoender played limited minutes due to illness for a 58-42 Lyncs win over Nooksack Valley on Saturday, Jan. 31, at Lynden Christian.

“Cody Fransen had an incredible night,” LC coach Roger DeBoer said in a phone interview. “He didn’t get a double-double and that’s only his fourth game this year without one. He did have eight rebounds and eight steals, so almost a triple-double. We’re excited for another great team win.”

Jake Poag added 13 points for the Lyncs.

Aaron Bosscher led the Pioneers with 14 points and six rebounds. a 22-14 turnover differential hurt Nooksack Valley, as they couldn’t get past LC’s presssure defense.

Lynden Christian plays next at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Ferndale. Nooksack Valley hosts Bellingham at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at home.
