Engholm gets hot late in Mount Baker girls’ win

Kylee Engholm got hot late and the Mount Baker girls’ basketball team earned a 61-58 Northwest Conference victory in overtime over Bellingham Friday, Jan. 30, at Mount Baker High School.

Engholm, who finished with 19 points, hit one of her three 3-pointers with seconds left in regulation and had six points in overtime for the Mountaineers, Emily Yost had 20 points and 12 rebounds on the night and Emily Brandland added 19 points.

“It was definitely back and forth the whole game,” Mount Baker coach Brenda Ellis said in a phone interview. “Bellingham rebounded really well. I think they got around 20 points off second chances. They just hustled so much on the boards”
