Meza’s big night boosts Storm

The Squalicum girls’ basketball team bounced back from a tough loss to city-rival Sehome with a big 82-53 win over Sedro-Woolley on Thursday, Jan. 29, at Sedro-Woolley.

Lissette Meza recorded a season-high 25 points, fueled by her eight made 3-pointers.

“Lissette got really hot for us. We did nice moving the ball and finding her on the perimeter,” Squalicum coach Mark Wright said in a phone interview. “Chalae (Wolters) was good offensively for us, as well. Tonight was fun, because a lot of kids got the ball in the basket tonight.”

Wolters added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Storm.

Squalicum next heads to Mount Baker at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3.
