Humphreys scores 27 in Lummi’s 55-36 win

Lummi’s girls’ basketball team defeated Skykomish 55-36 on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Skykomish High School.

The Blackhawks’ Treena Humphreys led the game with 27 points and Halle Sturgeon added 11.

“We came out slow and in the second half we put a press in. Things started opening up for us,” Lummi coach Albert Toby said in a phone interview. “I see our girls playing with a lot more confidence. We’re keeping our poise and staying focused throughout the game.”

Sturgeon and Nicki Revey were two players Toby highlighted as having standout performances during the game.

Lummi is back in action against Lopez Island next at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, on the road.
