Lummi’s defense big in 65-36 victory

Lummi’s boys’ basketball team defeated Providence Classical Christian 65-36 on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Providence Classical Christian High.

Trazil Lane led the Blackhawks with 25 points and Kavarez Lane contributed 13 points with three 3s.

“Coming off back-to-back nights on the road I was proud of our defensive hustle,” Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview. “We were clogging passing lanes, creating turnovers and getting in transition.”

Toby noted Dino Williams’ point guard play in Tuesday’s game. “Williams got everyone in the right position to score,” he said.

The Blackhawks will play Lopez Island next at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, on the road.
