Lummi girls suffer road loss

The Lummi girls’ basketball team suffered a 51-9 loss Monday, Jan. 26, at Orcas Christian.

Sarah Burke had four points, Janyha Ell had three points and Halle Sturgeon added two points in the loss.

Lummi coach Albert Toby said he took advantage of teaching his team as they played a very good Orcas Christian team.

“(Orcas Christian) is very well coached and very disiplined,” Toby said in a phone interview. “They play strong defense and the teamwork is just awesome.”

Lummi is back in action with a game at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Providence Classical Christian.
