Sehome’s free-throw shooting secures 51-47 victory

Sehome’s girls’ basketball team relied on its free throw shooting in a 51-47 win over Sedro-Woolley on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Sehome High School.

The Mariners’ Maddy Bryan led the game with 18 points and Sarah Eisses contributed 10.

“In the fourth quarter we shot 17 free throws. Our kids did a nice job of attacking the basket to get to the line and get in the bonus early,” Sehome coach Kim Kirk said in a phone interview.

Bryan was 12-for-16 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter and 6-for-6 in the last 22 seconds of the game. “(Bryan) did a nice job finding the gaps and getting to the rim,” Kirk said.

Sehome will play Blaine at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, at home.
