Lynden Christian falls in overtime 73-67

Lynden Christian’s boys’ basketball team landed on the losing side of a 73-67 overtime loss against Anacortes on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Lynden Christian High School.

The Lyncs’ Zach Roetcisoender led the game with a career-high 36 points and Josiah Meppelink had 10.

“It was a great, hard-fought match. We had the opportunity to win in regulation, but we missed our shot,” Lynden Christian coach Roger DeBoer said in a phone interview. “(Anacortes) hit a couple big 3s in overtime to pull ahead and take the game.”

Lynden Christian will take on Lynden next at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, on the road.
