Ferndale boys’ basketball shares the wealth in victory at Oak Harbor

All 12 players on the Ferndale boys’ basketball team not only played but all of them scored in an 82-51 victory Monday, Jan. 19, at Oak Harbor.

Austin Honeycutt had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Golden Eagles, Carson Genger added 14 points, Malik Ivory and Riley Hunt had seven assists each and Sky Freeman had 10 points and Oak Harbor only shot 12 of 45 against a stingy Ferndale defense.

“We played really solid defense against them and then really shared the ball after the defensive effort,” Ferndale coach Monte Walton said in a phone interview. “We wanted everyone to contribute tonight and they did a really good job for us.”

The Golden Eagles are back in action with a Northwest Conference game at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Meridian.
