Mount Baker holds off Burlington-Edison 55-52

Mount Baker’s boys’ basketball team defeated Burlington-Edison 55-52 on Thursday, Jan. 15, at Burlington-Edison High School.

The Mountaineers’ Timothy Soares finished with 15 points and 23 rebounds. Colton Ranson also had 15 points.

“We did a nice job having composure at the end of the game. Our free throw shooting got (Burlington) back into the game,” Mount Baker coach Rob Gray said in a phone interview.

Mount Baker was up 10 going into the fourth quarter before Burlington-Edison cut the lead to three points but never regained the lead.

The Mountaineers’ take on Lynden next at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at home.
