Lynden adjusts in second half of 44-33 win

Lynden’s girls’ basketball team made the halftime adjustments necessary in its 44-33 victory against Blaine on Monday, Jan. 12, at Lynden High School.

The Lions’ Kaitlyn Mark finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for her first career double-double. Elisa Kooiman had 11 points. The Borderites’ Mandy Hayes led the team with 11 points.

“Blaine ran a good zone against us which caused us to stand around. At halftime we made adjustments, came out in the third quarter and did our thing,” Lynden coach Rob Adams said in a phone interview.

Mark played lights out tonight, Adams said.

Lynden takes on Sedro-Woolley next at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, on the road. Blaine plays Anacortes next at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, at home.
