Lynden Christian pulls off the comeback with a 63-61 win over Sedro-Woolley

Lynden Christian’s boys’ basketball team made the halftime adjustments necessary to grab a 63-61 comeback win against Sedro-Woolley on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Sedro-Woolley High School.

The Lyncs’ Cody Fransen finished the game with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Zach Roetcisoender contributed 20 points.

“We were down 10 at halftime. We switched it up, ran multiple defenses in the second half and had success,” Lynden Christian coach Roger DeBoer said in a phone interview.

Sedro-Woolley’s Jackson Price had the ball in the last seconds to take the potential game-winning shot, but Josiah Meppelink’s defense prevented a shot from being taken, he said.

“Our coaching staff was proud of the heart and courage our team had against Sedro-Woolley tonight,” DeBoer said.

Lynden Christian will play Sehome next at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, at home.
