Bellingham tops Burlington-Edison 57-56

Bellingham’s boys’ basketball team withstood a competitive game with a 57-56 victory over Burlington-Edison on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Burlington-Edison High School.

The Red Raiders’ Kalien Hayes led the game with 17 points and Logan Schilder added 12.

“(Burlington-Edison) did a good job responding to our runs. We were able to grind it out and score more points than them,” Bellingham coach Brad McKay said in a phone interview.

McKay highlighted Hayes’ consistent scoring throughout the game, he scored in all four quarters.

Bellingham will play Squalicum next at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, at home.
