Tigers sink Red Raiders

No Bellingham girls’ basketball players scored in double digits as the Red Raiders suffered a 64-29 loss to Burlington-Edison on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Bellingham.

Three Tigers players scored in double figures. Tyra Lopez had 16, Edie Breckenridge had 12 and Olivia Capron scored 10 points.

Kylie Clark led the Red Raiders with eight points. Susie Bennett added two points and a team-high six rebounds. Another player stood out to Bellingham coach Ed Wissing.

“Yumin Buckley came in and played point guard for quality minutes as a swing player,” Wissing said in a phone interview. “She’s getting into that role. She was put under a lot of defensive pressure, but protected the ball and helped the offense.”

Bellingham hosts Squalicum at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9.
