Bellingham’s finishes strong in 46-32 victory over Marysville-Pilchuck

Bellingham’s girls’ basketball team used a 17-2 fourth quarter en route to a 46-32 victory against Marysville-Pilchuck on Tuesday, Dec. 30, in the Bulldog Holiday Classic at Mount Vernon High School.

The Red Raiders’ Emily Benson led the game with 14 points and Sarahbeth Pemble added 12.

“Down the stretch we attacked the basket better and we shot well from the free throw line,” Bellingham coach Ed Wissing said in a phone interview.

Kylie Clark and Benson were two players Wissing said attacked the basket well. The two did a good job finding Pemble, who was knocking down her shots, he said.

Bellingham will play Burlington-Edison next at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Burlington-Edison.
