Ferndale rolls through Thomas Jefferson

Ferndale scored 29 points in the first quarter en route to a 69-21 girls’ basketball win over Thomas Jefferson on Monday, Dec. 29, at Juanita High School for the Juanita Tournament.

Linsey Honeycutt registered a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds, both game-highs, and Abby Reid was just one assist away with 12 points and nine assists.

“We were definitely hitting on all cylinders,” Ferndale coach Mike Ivy said in a phone interview. “That’s two games in a row where we kept turnovers low. Abby had nine assists and it’s been awhile since we’ve had anyone with that much. She was a leader on the floor.”

The game was on running clock after the first quarter, Ivy said. Thomas Jefferson had 10 points at halftime.

Ferndale gets a tough test against Holy Names at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the Juanita Tournament at Juanita High School.
