Blaine falls short at the buzzer in 62-61 defeat against Lord Tweedsmuir

Blaine’s boys’ basketball team fell short in its 62-61 defeat to Lord Tweedsmuir in a game that went down to the buzzer Monday, Dec. 29, in the Blaine Holiday Classic at Blaine High School.

The Borderites’ Kier Munzanreder finished the game with 16 points and Anthony Ball added 15.

“(Tweedsmuir) came out in the third quarter, hit shots and did a good job of breaking us down on the dribble,” Blaine coach Shaune Pile said in a phone interview.

Blaine called a timeout with 16 seconds to go and were able to get the last shot off, but were unable to get it to go.

Marcus Potts and Anthony Ball were two players Pile said gave a good effort in the game and worked hard.

The Borderites will play Granite Falls next at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, in Blaine Holiday Classic matchup at Blaine.
