Sehome finishes strong in 55-40 victory against Bellevue Christian

Sehome’s girls’ basketball team finished strong with a 22-12 fourth quarter against Bellevue Christian in the Mariners’ 55-40 victory Monday, Dec. 29, in the Cloud 9 Christmas Classic at Lynden Christian High School.

The Mariners’ Maddy Bryan finished the game with a double-double, totaling 13 points and 12 rebounds. Madison MacPhee and Madison Ulrich finished with 12 points and 8 points, respectively.

“A big emphasis today was to finish strong and I thought we did well on that. It was a really good team effort today for us,” Sehome coach Kim Kirk said in a phone interview.

Sehome’s defense played strong in the second quarter, only giving up five points. All of those came from free throws, Kirk said.

The Mariners take on Cascade Christian at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, in another Cloud 9 Christmas Classic game at Lynden Christian.
