Lyncs get go-ahead layup in 41-37 win against Granger

Lynden Christian’s girls’ basketball team was able to get a go-ahead layup at the end of the game and make its free throws to seal a 41-37 victory against Granger on Monday, Dec. 29, in the Cloud 9 Christmas Classic at Lynden Christian High School.

The Lyncs’ Kara Bajema led the game with 15 points and Sara Dougan added eight.

“We were able to get stops when we needed to and were able to close it out,” Lynden Christian coach Brady Bomber said in a phone interview.

Lynden Christian’s Riley Van Hulzen was able to get a layup off of an inbound play with 15 seconds left and the Lyncs were able to get a stop on the next possession to win the game.

The Lyncs will play White River next at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, in a Cloud 9 Christmas Classic game at home.
