Lummi’s boys’ basketball team had a huge fourth quarter in its victory against Meridian on Monday, Dec. 22, at Meridian High School.
The Blackhawks’ Dean Williams and Trazil Lane led the game with 16 points. Meridian’s Alex Martin led the team with 11.
“We came out and hustled. The energy was there to start the game, but in the second half we got going,” Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview. “It started with our defensive hustle and we were able to go out in transition on offense.”
Lummi outscored Meridian 24-6 in the fourth quarter. Trazil Lane and Dean Williams were two players Toby said stood out in the game.
“Lummi just brought the effort tonight, we were outplayed and outcoached,” Meridian coach Shane Stacy said in a phone interview.
Meridian’s next game is against at Bellevue Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, in the Cloud 9 Christmas Classic at Lynden Christian and Lummi takes on Muckleshoot Tribal School at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, at home.
