Ferndale’s huge second half key in 69-27 victory against Oak Harbor

Ferndale’s girls’ basketball team defeated Oak Harbor 69-27 on Saturday, Dec. 20, at Ferndale High School.

The Golden Eagles’ Linsey Honeycutt led the game with an 18-point, 12-rebound double-double and Abby Reid finished with 12 points.

“We really struggled in the first half,” Ferndale coach Mike Ivy said in a phone interview. “In the second half we changed our style a little bit and came at (Oak Harbor) a different way.”

Ferndale ended up outscoring Oak Harbor 46-7 in the second half of the game.

The Golden Eagles will face Kentridge next at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, at Juanita.
