Lynden’s defensive adjustments lead to 54-42 victory

Lynden’s girls’ basketball team made the defensive adjustments necessary to come away with a 54-42 victory against Everett on Friday, Dec. 19, at Everett High School.

The Lions’ Kaitlyn Mark led the game with 21 points and Elisa Kooiman finished with 17.

“The difference was defense. We had a nice talk at halftime about commitment, sacrifice and trust,” Lynden coach Rob Adams said in a phone interview. “Those three words made a difference for us.”

Following halftime, Lynden outscored Everett 18-3 in the third quarter.

Lynden travels down to the Mountlake Terrace Holiday Hoops Showcase to take on Redmond at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at Mountlake Terrace High School.
