Big fourth key for Borderites in win

Blaine’s boys’ basketball team exploded for 28 points in the fourth quarter to defeat Burlington-Edison 59-51 on Friday, Dec. 19, at Blaine.

“In the fourth we shot 14 of 18 from the free throw line, so that’s how you close out a game,” Blaine coach Shaun Pile said in a phone interview. “We got in the bonus and were able to shut them down on defense.”

Shaq Woods led the Borderites with 14 points, Kier Munzenrader had 13, and Sean Herrig scored 11. Woods also led Blaine with 10 rebounds.

“Kier did a nice job facilitating on offense,” Pile said.
