Sehome’s tough fourth quarter key in defeat against Pioneers

A tough fourth quarter led to Sehome’s 58-42 loss against Nooksack Valley on Thursday, Dec. 18, at Sehome High School.

The Mariners’ Madison Ulrich finished the game with 14 points and Maddy Bryan had nine. Nooksack Valley’s Arlissa Oettel had 19 points and Mariah Perry added 13.

“(Nooksack Valley) hit some shots down the stretch and we weren’t able to answer,” Sehome coach Kim Kirk said in a phone interview.

Ulrich on offense and Maddy Hooker on defense were two players Kirk said played well for Sehome in the game.

Sehome takes on Arlington at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at home and Nooksack Valley will face Overlake at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Overlake.
