Shorthanded Blackhawks fall to Highland Christian

A shorthanded Lummi girls’ basketball team was defeated by Highland Christian 34-13 on Monday, Dec. 15, at Highland Christian.

Sarah Burke and Nicki Revey led the Blackhawks with 6 points and 3 points scored, respectively.

“Tonight we played with a couple starters out and we had to adapt quickly with a couple girls off the bench,” Lummi coach Albert Toby said in a phone interview.

Carla Lawrence played with a lot of intensity on defense and Burke gave a real good effort tonight, Toby said.

“Overall we played very well without our main scorer, I was pleased with the effort we put out tonight,” Toby said.

The Blackhawks play Lopez next at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, at Lopez.
