Mount Baker edges Bellingham 58-49

Mount Baker’s girls’ basketball team defeated Bellingham 58-49 on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Bellingham.

The Mountaineers’ Emily Yost led the game with 24 points and Emily Brandland added 18.

The Red Raiders’ Emily Benson led the team with 18 points on the night.

“Emily Benson shot very well from outside and did a good job taking it to the basket down the stretch,” Bellingham coach Ed Wissning said in a phone interview.

Bellingham’s next game will be against Marysville-Pilchuck at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12 at Marysville-Pilchuck, and Mount Baker plays Oak Harbor next at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, at Oak Harbor.
