Squalicum’s defense gets the job done against Oak Harbor

Squalicum’s girls’ basketball team defeated Oak Harbor on Monday, Dec. 8, at Squalicum.

The Storm’s Chalae Wolters led the game with 12 points and Sarah Hulbert and Sydney Arndorfer each added eight.

“We challenged our girls at halftime to defend better,” Squalicum coach Mark Wright said in a phone interview. “We have to be great defensively.”

Squalicum’s defense seemed to rise to the challenge, forcing 34 Oak Harbor turnovers.

The Storm’s next game is against Sehome at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11 at Sehome.
