Mount Baker’s Soares’ gets double-double in win against Coupeville

Mount Baker’s boys’ basketball team defeated Coupeville 78-40 on Monday, Dec. 8, at Mount Baker.

The Mountaineers’ Timothy Soares had a double-double with 22 points and 17 rebounds, TJ Bass added 16 points.

“Soares was able to create some inside scoring opportunities,” Mount Baker coach Rob Gray said in a phone interview. “He had career-highs in points and rebounds tonight.”

Mount Baker’s offense seemed to be clicking tonight, scoring at least 20 points in the first three quarters of the game.

The Mountaineers’ next game is against Mornington Breakers (Australia) at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Mount Baker.
