Chris Paz’s double-double lifts Storm past Cedarcrest

Squalicum defeated Cedarcrest 63-52 Saturday, Dec. 6, at Cedarcrest.

The Storm’s Damek Mitchell led the game with 17 points and Josiah Westbrook finished with 14, nine of those points coming in the fourth quarter.

“We came out and played a really good first quarter,” Squalicum coach Dave Dickson said in a phone interview.

Squalicum started strong, leading 25-8 after the opening quarter.

Cedarcrest fought back and took the lead in the middle of the third quarter, Dickson said.

But the Storm, who had four players in double figures, proved to be too strong in the end after outscoring Cedarcrest 15-7 in the fourth quarter.
