Last year: Finished 11-12 overall and 7-5 in the Northwest Conference, good for sixth place in the league. ... Went 1-2 in the bi-district tournament as they were eliminated by Bellingham in a 43-30 defeat. ... Averaged 39.7 point per game while allowing 43.5 points per.

Outlook: The Seahawks have good heightthis year, which has Welk excited about what that could mean for the team’s ability to rebound and play defense. “I think we’re a team that has some length to us,” Welk told the Skagit Valley Herald. “That’s going to be pretty fun for us.”Anacortes graduated it’s top two scorers from last season, and will likely look to Hurtado (3.4 points per game), Geffe (4.4) and Riordan (4.9) to pick up the slack. Senior post Autumn Frost also averaged 3.5 points as a sophomore before sitting out last season. “We’re trying to improve our outside shooting,” Welk said. “We want to be more balanced with our attack, inside and outside.”
