Mount Baker selects new baseball coach

Mount Baker announced on Monday, Jan. 11, that Justin Myers will take over as coach of the baseball team this spring.

Meyers, a 2002 graduate of Mount Baker High School, takes over for Derek Johnson, who led the Mountaineers to a 1-17 mark in 2015. According to a school press release, Meyers has spent time working with youth players and served as a varsity assistant and JV coach at Nooksack Valley from 2009-10.

“I’m extremely excited to come back to the school where I graduated and be able to help develop kids in their baseball playing careers. It’s a huge privilege,” Myers said in the press release.
