Luna steps down as coach of LC baseball program

Lynden Christian baseball coach Desi Luna will step down after leading the program the past six years, athletic director Curt De Haan announced in a press release on Thursday, May 21.

“Luna has been a part of the baseball program for the past 10 years,” De Haan said in the release. “With a strong commitment to fundamentals, Desi has worked hard at maintaining a strong baseball tradition at Lynden Christian School, overseeing the building of new facilities and striving the program and its players toward excellence.”

The Lyncs went 3-19 this spring, and earned a spot in the Class 1A Bi-District Tournament. They ended their season with a pair of postseason losses to University Prep and Cedar Park Christian on May 9.

In its six years under Luna, LC went 38-96 and advanced to the postseason all six years.
