The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Executive Board announced on Thursday, May 21, that Bellingham’s Joe Martin Field will host the 2015 Class 4A State Baseball Tournament’s Final Four on Friday and Saturday, May 29-30.
The Class 3A’s Final Four also will move to the University of Washington’s Husky Ballpark in Seattle.
The moves come a little more than a week before the state semifinals and were made because of unusable field conditions at Gesa Stadium in Pasco, according to a WIAA release.
Game times at both facilities will be the same, with Friday’s semifinals slated for 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Saturday’s third-place game at 1 p.m. and the championship game to follow at 4 p.m.

Ticket prices remain the same at $9 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens, and this weekend’s regional schedule was not impacted by the move.
Joe Martin Field had installation of a new artificial playing surface completed this spring, and has hosted the Class 1A Bi-District Tournament the past two weekends and will host a regional in the Class 2A State Tournament on Saturday, May 23.
Though Bellingham has hosted a state regional most years since the early 1980s, this will mark the first time it has hosted the state baseball semifinals and championship game for any classification, according to WIAA historical records dating back to 1973.
