Sehome commits 3 errors in its 5-3 loss to Anacortes

Sehome’s baseball team fell victim to a four-run fourth inning by Anacortes in its 5-3 loss on Wednesday, May 6, at Anacortes High School.

Felix Zavisubin received the loss for the Mariners. Owen Wright, Jake Albert and Tyler Hruby each went 1 for 3 with an RBI to lead Sehome at the plate.

“We had three errors in the fourth inning that really cost us four runs,” Sehome coach Gary Hatch said in a phone interview. “We didn’t swing the bat as well as we could have. I felt we didn’t come to compete very well and it cost us.”

Sehome is the No. 4 seed in the Northwest Conference and will take on Cedarcrest next at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 9, in its Class 2A Northwest District Tournament opener at Daniels Field.
