Nooksack Valley scores 5 in fourth inning in 10-0 win against Lynden Christian

Noah Rawls went four innings and allowed one hit to lead Nooksack Valley in a 10-0 win against Lynden Christian on Wednesday, May 6, at Lynden Christian High School.

The Pioneers’ Taylor Gardner went 2 for 4 with a run and three RBI, Rawls went 2 for 3 with a run and two RBI, Ryan Gelwicks went 2 for 3 with two runs and Trevon Beck went 1 for 3 with a double, two runs and an RBI.

“We worked into the game a little bit,” Nooksack Valley coach Scott Gelwicks said in a phone interview. “In the fourth (inning) we picked it up.”

Scott also highlighted Curtis Handy for his defensive play at catcher, throwing out two runners attempting to steal second base.

Nooksack Valley will take on Univerity Prep next at noon Saturday, May 9, in a Class 1A Bi-District Tournament matchup at Sehome High School. Lynden Christian will play Bothell Cedar Park Christian next at noon Saturday, May 9, in a Class 1A Bi-District Tournament matchup at Joe Martin Field.
