Mariners errorless in win over Lyncs

Sehome’s softball team played flawlessly on defense en route to a 6-1 win over Lynden Christian on Thursday, April 30, at Frank Geri Fields in a Northwest Conference game.

The Mariners didn’t commit a single error behind Carissa McDowell in the circle. McDowell struck out three, and at the plate was 2 for 3 with a run scored and a double.

“Carissa did a nice job for us,” Sehome coach Jim Emerson said in a phone interview. “She did a good job hitting her spots and we fielded the ball well behind her.”

Gabby Gorosave was also 3 for 3 with a double and a pair of runs and an RBI. Morgan Henry went 2 for 3 with a run scored, three RBI and a home run.

Allison Smit suffered the loss in the circle for LC, but went 2 for 3 with an RBI at the dish.

Sehome plays next at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, at Frank Geri Fields against Sedro-Woolley. Lynden Christian hosts Mount Baker at 4:30 p.m. the same day.
